Chris's RB26 powered Datsun 240z

Chris' Datsun represents every tuner cultured teenagers dream, a skyline powered vehicle legal to drive in the US. The setup is pretty straight forward: R33 RB26DETT coupled to an RB25 RWD transmission. The final drive is the IRS found in the Infiniti Q45. My involvement in this project dealt with the aluminum welding during the process of the swap. For a while the engine ran on the stock turbos and R33 ecu. Chris opted to run the AEM EMS to prepare the engine for the fitment of a single turbocharger. Once the car was fitted with a forced performance HTA35 turbocharger I handled the dyno tuning of the AEM. The Datsun currently makes 518.29whp / 425.37tq on 91 octane pump gas combined with 50% methanol injection.
